Wedding post #2 is just a great way for me to celebrate it being Friday! I’ve realized how fun it’s going to be for me to continue these posts + share what we are doing to make our day special + unique for us! As well as creative ways to save a little money along the way so that you can really invest in those things that are most important to you on your big day : )
As mentioned previously, my hope is that these posts would even inspire just one bride to unleash her creative side + include special elements in the planning of her wedding day!! You can do ANYTHING + it can be fun!! : ) So enjoy today’s post + of course, have an AMAZING weekend!! <3, M
These are swatches of the fabric that we are using for our table runners! We are having six, 32-foot-long communal tables at the reception, so this amazing sequence fabric will bring a lot of sparkle + glam to the reception! I found this fabric on Amazon for a fraction of the cost it was on the original website!! Additionally, we are cutting it ourselves (well, Caleb’s grandma is cutting it for us!! hehe) : ) As photographers, we wanted to find ways to include PHOTOS in our day! One of those ways is the guestbook. Guests will take “selfies” throughout the cocktail hour/reception that we will develop later on + paste next to the note they leave us in the guestbook : )
I got these cameras on Amazon as well for SO CHEAP (from The Camera Depot) compared to buying them at Walgreens, etc. Then I added a little sparkly ribbon for that lovely golden touch!! P.S. Target doesn’t even sell disposable cameras anymore! Definitely a thing of the past … ; )
I also decided to make our guest book since everything I was finding online seemed to be a little too pricey for us. I bought a simple scrapbook album on sale at Michael’s as well as some plain scrapbook paper (also on sale!) to create the look we were going for. Yes, the work may be a tiny bit tedious, but if I do 5 pages per day, it won’t take that long + will be oh so worth it! Our graphic designer + friend, Sam Kachel, will also be drawing some florals on the cover to really pull the guest book together + have it match the rest of the signage at the wedding! She is mazing. I used the back of a 4×6 picture frame to trace where guests’ photos will go + also to draw the lines for the spots to leave us a note : )
Aaaaaaannndd, without giving TOO much away, these may be some of the bridesmaid dresses ….. !!!! ; )
This gift I received from my good friend, Emily, is simply amazing. I just had to share for future brides! It’s the perfect “bridal emergency kit”. So tiny + cute, but STUFFED with everything you could ever need on your day–I mean, the thing has earring backs!! (Plus it matches our color scheme!!!!!). You can find them at Francesa’s.
Finally, I thought I’d share how I’m keeping organized during this whole process because it really can be so simple! One accordion folder with different categories (receipts, invoices, registry info, to-do lists, etc.!!). All in one place, all the time : )
