Well, today’s post is one I did not expect to be blogging about for a long time. As of today, Caleb + I are officially debt free. How CRAZY + amazing is this?! It feels surreal … so freeing!! And simply, I feel SO BLESSED.

A couple of weeks ago, Caleb began going through Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover, per recommendation of several friends + acquaintances in our lives, who knew we were beginning to think about getting our finances in order for not only marriage, but the business as well. We quickly learned how important it is to strive to be debt free, for lots + lots of reasons (Caleb should really be writing this post because I am NOT the financial guru, AT ALL, in this relationship) … Anyway, being debt free would save us from the significant loss of money on interest, give us the ability to SAVE more + invest more so that we can eventually GIVE more, + is also would help give us the ability to better discern between the things we NEED + the things we WANT. Sooo, Caleb being the incredibly wise, financially responsible, + diligent saver that he naturally is, was able to pay off all of our debt!! We seriously, SERIOUSLY, recommend Dave Ramsey’s resources to anyone who is wanting to tackle their finances head on! Go check him out–you won’t regret it!

Going into the busy wedding season with this new accomplishment feels so freeing. No more payments every month, nothing tying us down. We can now begin simply SAVING the money we earn + investing in our future–a home, the business, kids, etc.!! It’s amazing how something like this can be so motivating for all other areas of our lives. I am SO READY for wedding season to begin–the busyness, the hard work, the REWARD of happy couples + beautiful images … it is time!! Yet when those late nights + early mornings begin to take a toll, I will remember + be thankful for SO MANY blessings–this business, my incredible fiancé, the supernatural strength of my Savior. So here we go–nine weddings, OUR wedding, then nine more weddings 🙂 Blessed, blessed, blessed!! Have a great Friday!! -M
