Being wedding photographers, it’s kind of unheard of to take off two full weeks in the middle of your busiest season; May through October, we work like crazy!! while November through April is a much slower, calmer, work on behind-the-scenes-projects kind of season. That being said, going into our wedding, we knew that there was really no way we could afford to take off three full weeks to go on a honeymoon immediately following our wedding!! So instead, we decided to take a three day getaway to a private island in northern Wisconsin + go on our “real” honeymoon this winter when we have a LOT more free time + it’s super cold here anyway!! It actually worked out kind of perfectly : )

Caleb did SUCH an amazing job planning this small trip of ours–from the moment I stepped foot off of the ferry + onto Stout’s Island in the quaint town of Birchwood, Wisconsin, I was in love. This dreamy island is nestled with old log cabins, winding walking paths, kayaks, + delightful refreshments : ) I think the pictures below will do a much better job than my words at describing this lovely little paradise!! We SO enjoyed the time to just unwind, unplug, + enjoy each other’s company with little-to-no distractions—something that is hard to do when there are constantly emails to be sent, pictures to edit, road trips to take … you get the idea : ) We are lmost at one week of being married + so far, we love it : ) After being long distance for our entire relationship, there are finally no more good-byes … hallelujah : )
