I’m not sure I’ve ever met two people who were more excited to get married. Mike + Melissa’s day was about nothing more than the two of them becoming one–husband + wife. A team. Together. For eternity. Yes, the flowers were gorgeous, picked fresh from Melissa’s mom’s garden. The signage was beautifully hand-painted by the bride herself + breakfast was served hot that morning for the wedding party, family, friends, + yes, even the photographers : ) But more important, more impressive, than all these thoughtful, unique, + personal details, was the devotion between Mike + Melissa … their passion for their marriage + their future lives together.
All festivities of the day took place at Melissa’s parent’s house in the small town of Mayville, Wisconsin : ) It was a hot, sunny day, but guests took shelter beneath umbrellas + their sunglasses while the couple shared their vows beneath the tall, green tree line. Melissa’s dad loves to farm, + now that he is retired from his teaching job, he can freely spend the entirety of his days out in the fields–after all, this is where he feels closest to God, Melissa told me. The Nied family property was absolutely breath-taking + hats off to Melissa’s parents for all the hard work they put in to prepare for the day!! Every single guest noticed the details–the perfectly groomed trails, spotless sheds, trimmed flower gardens–all just lovely + only adding beauty to the celebration of Mike + Melissa. Overflowing tears of joy were unending + shared by all throughout the day : ) It was truly such a special day to be a part of!!!
Mike + Melissa, there is no doubt that God has been writing your love story since the day He created you. We are so thankful for your friendship + now marriage—YAY!!! : ) You have been such a beautiful example of integrity, authenticity, + love, + we thank you so much for impacting our lives for the better : ) Now, relive your day!! Enjoy these sweet memories : ) And we’ll see you this winter for a little pond hockey ; ) xoxo, M
Melissa did such an amazing job on all of the signs!!
Most adorable flower girl ever!?!? She loved hanging with the girls : )
The groomsmen all received gift baskets filled with homemade syrups + jams the morning of the wedding … hand delivered to their hotel rooms + all!!
They made me do this ; ) Apparently it’s from Anchorman?!?
Oh a favorite for sure!!!! Melissa’s mom made that gorgeous veil!!
Yes : ) So romantic!!
Now THAT is happiness : )!!!
Mike + I bonded over the fact that a very large portion of our ancestry comes from the Netherlands!! So of course, M + M had to do the famous Dutch kissing doll pose!! (Mike’s idea!!! I love it!!)
I think the caption to this goes something like “my cheeks hurt from smiling too much …”!!!
And then someone had this idea, so we had to!!
And their romance lived on forever.
