I am so excited to finally be sharing this wedding with you on the blog today!! I’m going to spare you with a ton of writing in the beginning for this one, because honestly, the pictures do the best job of telling the story of Danny + Mal’s absolutely remarkable wedding day (sorry this one is so long, I just couldn’t leave anything out!!)!! Two musicians … lots of creative juices … glitz + glam … exceptional party throwers … WONDERFUL friends + family … you’ve got it: the Wedel Wedding : )

From the get go, Mallory told me that her + Danny wanted to turn the traditional wedding day “on it’s head” + create a timeline + celebration that was totally unique to them. I’d say they accomplished it, but I guess you’ll just have to see for yourself!! I’m hoping this post inspires current brides-to-be, woos viewers with its extraordinary love story, + most of all, allows Danny + Mallory to forever relive the greatest party they have ever thrown!! : ) Wedels—you two ignite + inspire. Thank you, thank you, for letting us be a part of your incredible day!! We are raising a glass to knowing, without a doubt, that you two are far better … more influential … passionate … better world changers … together. To 100 more years of singing side by side : ) -M

It was SO windy this day–no one expected such crazy weather!! But these two did GREAT : ) Absolutely nothing was stopping them from having their fairytale wedding!! Their positivity + energy MADE the day the amazing celebration it was : )

The bridal party looked SO good!! I love the mismatch dresses AND suits!!!

New favorite groomsmen shot!!! The best thing about this is that I simply told them to walk towards me–the rest was ALL them!!! And they nailed it!!

Twins?!?! ; ) (hint: they are)!!!

I just adore this shot Caleb got of the guys hanging out + watching while we did the girl’s pictures … SO cute!!

This one makes me so happy!!

So thankful for beautiful indoor locations like the Overture Center on cold, windy days!!

Might be my favorite!!

Not only did Danny sing Mallory down the aisle, but the entire bridal party joined in with harmonies as they entered the tent so that when Mallory came in, everyone was singing!! It was like an entire beautiful chorus + I was in heaven!! So, SO cool!!!

Both Mallory + Danny were passed down their musical abilities from their fathers, so naturally, these two gentlemen sang a special song together at the ceremony for their children!!

The childhood best friends of the bride + groom read a children’s story about love + friendship–“Rosie + Michael;”–during the ceremony as well : ) I loved this super unique + sweet idea to portray the relationship that Danny + Malloy have with one another–lots of laughter + happy tears here : )

Finally, the Maid of Honor + Best Man (brother + sister of the bride + groom), who are ALSO incredibly gifted musically, sang a song for the couple!!! SO much music, + everyone was LOVING it!!!

HOW SIMILAR do Danny + Mallory look to their siblings?! We could not get over it!!!

Might be a new favorite bridal portrait–Mallory, you are drop-dead GORGEOUS!! And so timelessly elegant!!! I can’t wait for you to show this to your daughters + granddaughters someday!!

This last set is to die for–a photographer’s (well MY) dream!! A cloudy twilight by the water!!

Get ready for the details of the century!! These two envisioned the most jaw dropping, intentional, + creative reception tent you could possibly imagine, + with the help of Cherry Blossom Events here in Madison, it was brought to life!!

The appetizers + dinner were provided by some of the most amazing food trucks here in Madison!! Danny + Mal are total “foodies”, so it was only appropriate for them to think outside the box for their catering! (The potstickers were AMAZING!!)

In a nod to Danny’s Japanese roots, the tables were lined with origami paper cranes + chopsticks for the guests!

Danny was born in Kansas–with a family history in wheat farming–so the couple had shocks of wheat brought in from directly from Kansas, used for centerpieces, reception décor, + groomsmen boutonnières!!

Aaaaannnd, now it’s time for the after-party!!

What’s a party without some Wisconsin cheese curds?! (Yes … these were amazing, too!!!!)

After their first dance + a few songs by The Dang-Its, Mal surprised Danny with an outfit change + a special song just for him!! It was AMAZING + the crowd went wild (Danny included!!)!!

Of course, Danny + Mal had to sing a few songs together for everyone—first time as husband + wife!!! : )

And finally, the Wedel boys had to do a song together, too!! As you can see, SUCH an incredible night of music + dancing + celebrating!! : )
