Matthew + Katelyn’s engagement session is a testament to couples + photographers alike that rain (like real, coming-down-hard kind of rain) does NOT have to ruin your engagement session (or wedding day for that matter!!) With the most positive attitudes one could ever ask for, these two embraced their rainy engagement session day with JOY (I mean, just look at their smiles!!) + had a blast during their session!! As photographers, we were pushed outside of our “comfort” zone during this shoot, but times like these provide opportunities to get creative, think outside-the-box, + remain professional + consistent no matter what the circumstances!!
Even more perfect was the fact that these two literally had to use their “special umbrella” during some of the shots for their session–it was under this umbrella, when these two were walking to a meeting together during college in a downpour, that they were forced to first hold hands + walk hip to hip, squished together beneath to avoid the rain. Katelyn described the experience as “electrifying”, + both agreed it was when they KNEW they were meant to be together forever : )
We spent our time together on UW-Oshkosh’s campus (where the two first met + fell in love). They are also getting married here in January, so we were able to check out their venue with them + hear all about the plans for their day!! Katelyn + I learned that we have a LOT in common, + we all shared laughs as if we were old friends : ) I’m so thankful to Facebook for bringing MMP onto Katelyn’s newsfeed a little over a year ago, + for her following ever since. There is no doubt in my mind that we are destined to shoot their wedding : ) Thank you, Jesus!!
M+K, you are down to the 30’s!! Hang tight–we’ll see you in January!! Until then, enjoy some of my favorites from your session! xoxo! -M
