You never know what to expect when you book an engagement session for January 31st in the heart of the Wisconsin Northwoods. To give you an idea, we got about seven or eight inches of snow in the last day here in southern Wisconsin with wind chills dipping below zero!! Thankfully, we had a GORGEOUS afternoon for Ben + Amy’s engagement session this past weekend (the wild weather didn’t start until the day after their session, phew!!)
I have been just dying to meet these two in person!!!! Amy + I had been emailing back + forth for awhile + simply by reading her emails, I could tell she was an absolute sweetheart : ) Spending time with her + Ben in person only affirmed my assumptions + I quickly fell in love with this wonderful couple : ) They are SO down-to-earth, easy going, fun to be around, + actually share a lot of the same interests as Caleb + I! From the get-go, Caleb + Ben were bonding over all things snowboarding while Amy + I chatted about wedding plans + other girly things (like hair + makeup because hers looked AMAZING!!)
We actually got to shoot in my hometown which was a fun change of scenery for Caleb + I (including a nice weekend away visiting my parents)!! We started at a park that the Waupaca River runs through + it was just perfect for the session because the river had opened up a bit (due to warmer temperatures) making for the most gorgeous backdrop for their photos!! Don’t worry–we made sure we were safe before venturing out on the ice!! Well … I won’t speak for the boys, hehe!! Enjoy some of my favorites from their session + have a beautiful Wednesday!!
Just wait … the gorgeousness does not stop with this girl!!
A favorite for sure!!
Gahhh, this next black + white set!!! <3
Yesssss.
Stay tuned for their wedding photos, coming this October!!
