Yes, that’s right! We’re officially students again!! (I NEVER thought those words would come out of my mouth)!! As of a week ago, Caleb + I officially enrolled in + began our first course at the International Academy of Wedding Photographers, + we truly couldn’t be more thrilled! While we are SO humbled + excited about how much our business has grown + evolved over the past two years, we know that we have a LOT to learn (+ frankly, always WILL have a lot to learn)! To think one has “arrived” regarding their accomplishments + successes … to think, “I’ve made it! I’ve done it! This is all there is.” <<<THAT is a dangerous thing!! There are always areas in our business that we can improve on (whether it’s actually RUNNING the business, or perfecting our craft)–and we are thankful that different seasons bring different challenges that allow us to become better photographers + business owners than we already are!! (Plus, learning + going to school is WAY, WAAAAAAYYY different when you’re learning about something you are truly passionate + excited about!! Who knew!?!)

The International Academy of Wedding Photographers is an accredited PCTIA University, as well as part of the Wedding Industry Professionals Association. We are learning from some of the BEST photographers AND educators in our industry, all while sipping coffee, snuggling Vivian, + wearing our pajama pants ; ) ha! It’s the best! We have committed to dedicating the first two hours of our business day to our schooling + we’re thinking it will take us about a year to get through all eight courses!! We will be learning about everything from marketing + branding, to using natural light + off camera flash during our sessions! So much goodness : ) We can’t wait to share it with you as we embark on this academic adventure!!
