A Touch of Purple | For Brides Series | Maison’s Wedding Inspiration.

May 4, 2015

A big huge “YAY!!” for today’s post : ) As you have probably guessed by now, I love weddings. The thing I love most about them is the getting married part–the-forever-companion-grow-old-together part–but I also love the thought + details that go into the day!! I am a very detail-oriented person (I think?), so the details on my own wedding day were very important to me, well-thought out, + crafted with intention. Many of them meant something very special to me!! This is one of the many reasons I LOVE shooting details on the wedding day. The details of each day are what help tell the story of the couple + their history, as well as what makes the day truly unique + reflective of the bride + groom being celebrated!!!

Since I love wedding details so much, I often find myself browsing + “pinning” various wedding day details, just because I love them! Even though my wedding day is over, I still love doing this on a regular basis : ) The other week, I had a thought to myself–my gosh, I could take this little hobby of mine + SHARE IT with current or future brides who read our blog!! I could compile my own, personal bridal inspiration boards for them to look at + tweak to fit the vision of their own day!! YAY! Hobby turned job ; )

So today is the “premiere” of Maison’s Wedding Inspiration Boards!! Since purple is my favorite color, I thought I would start with it : ) Brides who are currently planning days with accents of plum, lavender, or any other shade of purple, it’s your lucky day!!

1. Bridesmaid Dresses

Easy-peasy way to incorporate your wedding colors! In the image below, I love the different shades of purple, as well as the different cuts flattering to each particular bridesmaid, + that they are floor length! (My personal fave) : )

2. Stationery

Whether your stationery is feminine + romantic, or bold + fun, adding a pop of your signature color is a great way to incorporate it right from the get-go!

3. Shoes

A subtle lavender heel is always a great option!!

4. Flowers

Probably the easiest way to incorporate your signature colors. From table centerpieces, to the bridal bouquet, to the boutonnieres, I love all of the purple accents in these arrangements!

4. Ceremony Décor

Whether it’s flowers lining the aisle or on the alter, a romantic backdrop, or perhaps candles up in front, a pop of your color is a nice personal touch to the ceremony space!

4. Escort Cards

I love the way the brides in all of the below images used creative ways to create dreamy purple escort cards for their guests!

5. Reception Décor

Another great spot to include your color–from table cloths or runners, to chargers, menu cards, or vases–such beautiful purple touches!!

6. Think Outside the Box

What other ways can you incorporate your wedding color into your day in a subtle + tasteful way? In the images below, I’m suggesting in your cocktails!! Or even just the straws!! Beautiful drinks + another touch of purple!!
