“What’s the best way to get rid of the swelling in my knee?” she asked. “Dinner + a movie,” he responded.

The true start of the love story on the blog today (these two ARE as adorable as they sound)! Lauren had just had knee surgery, Zach was her physical therapist—and the above response would change their lives forever : )

We met these two at Lauren’s grandma’s cottage on Lake Kegnosa in Stoughton, WI last Sunday. A place close to Lauren’s heart … one that she spent many, many, many summers at growing up. I’m going to call it a mini “resort” because not only is there grandma’s little red cottage, but the family also owns the yellow cottage next door, the one after that, + then the one after that : ) It was such a beautiful place, the sun was shining, + Vivian + Potter (Zach + Lauren’s pup) were running around having the time of their lives—the best kind of afternoon : )

Zach + Lauren are two of THE MOST goofy, playful, + joyful people I have ever met. They LIVE for adventure + have so many great (+ hilarious) memories together. I had already felt like we knew them pretty well going into the session from our Skype dates + emails, but spending time with these two in person was exactly what we needed after a back-to-back wedding + engagement session the two days before. We laughed (my gosh did we laugh!!), + it truly felt like we had been friends for years. Their joy is contagious + capturing it was absolutely easy + natural. I’m excited to share their session with you!!
