Today’s post might come as a bit of a surprise to some of you, but it’s something I’m SO excited to finally be sharing …

I work at Madewell!

For those who aren’t familiar with Madewell, it is a sister store with J. Crew, known for it’s amazing denim + leather goods. I personally love their shoes, but that’s another topic! Ha!

When Caleb first suggested that we get part-time jobs in the off-season, I was unsure. However, he convinced me that since we don’t have kids right now, we could take on a super small workload at places that we would love to work at, + the jobs would be stress-free, FUN, + probably actually pretty life-giving for us! As often happens, he was totally right. I LOVE working at Madewell … for so many reasons!

1. It is a TOTAL change of pace compared to running your own business! I go to work, do my job well, + when I clock out, I’m DONE! No taking work home with me : )

2. I only work one short shift a week which doesn’t leave me feeling overwhelmed or stressed. I’m still easily able to get everything done for our business AND have time to rest … which makes me love the job even more! No added stress = happy camper for me! I’m thankful to work somewhere that is SO accommodating to our business needs : )

3. I get to keep up with the latest design + fashion trends (because seriously, I am the least fashionable employee at our Madewell store — it’s true!). I’ve always loved fashion, so it’s super fun to learn from people who professionally know what they’re talking about when it comes to this topic!! I’m constantly being pushed to open my mind to knew ideas + styles when I’m working at the store. That is very important to my managers, + I love that about them! Also, I’ve even been able to style some of the design boards in the store, which is SO fun for me because as many of you know, I love styling + creating pretty things : )
