Maison Meredith at Home | Entryway & Half Bath Update.

April 27, 2016

Oh, you KNOW I am so excited about today’s post!! Home decorating is like my third(?) love … after Jesus, Caleb, Vivian, marriage, + photography (okay, like my 6th love!), but I seriously do love, love, LOVE putting the pieces together to decorate + create a home that is warm, inviting, pretty, + comfortable. <<<I realize there were a lot of “loves” used in that paragraph …

Anyway, today I’m super excited to share with you two small spaces in our home that needed some updating when we moved in — our entryway + our half (guest) bath! Although we didn’t have a lot of real estate to work with in these two spaces, I’m super pleased with the small changes we added or made to them + the huge impact they had on the overall flow of our home! So … here we go! : )

As you can see, the entry space is very small + somewhat challenging to work with! I knew I wanted something to hold our shoes + help keep the tiny space tidy, but who knew I would settle on a “bookshelf”!?! : )

Shelf is from World Market, faux planter + rug from HomeGoods, mirror repurposed from my grandparent’s basement (score!), + pineapple clock (or as I call it, the ‘Welcome to our Home‘ clock!) from Society 6!

On to the half bath! This was the color when we moved in …

… but I prefer something (okay I prefer everything) more neutral : )

Above: towels from World Market, garbage can + soap dispenser from HomeGoods

Below are some close up shots of the shelf hanging above our toilet (because Caleb said no one wants to see a picture of the toilet!) ; ) hehe! Shelf from Hobby Lobby, print from Minted, frame from HomeGoods, candle holder/candle/terrarium from Target!

  1. Kelly Zugay says:

It’s beautiful! You did such an amazing job decorating! 🙂

  2. Maison, I love these little sneak peeks into your life and your home! I especially love the simplistic way that you decorate, it’s seriously so clutter- and stress-free! We just moved into our first home and one of the bedrooms was just a shade brighter of that same green that was in your bathroom. I really couldn’t comprehend having that color in a bedroom, so we happily covered it :).

Also, as we begin the journey of decorating our own home, that table you have in the entryway is exactly what I was looking for to go in our living room! I’m so glad you share these things! And it’s fun to see you use your photography talent in other avenues 🙂 Especially the puppy pictures at Devil’s Lake!
