My heart is seriously EXPLODING with love for the couple + session on the blog today. If you’ve been around for awhile, you already know this! — but if not, welcome to the blog of a husband + wife wedding photography team who consider photography their (incredible) profession, but MARRIAGE their PASSION. In marriage, two people leave behind their individual legacies (to an extent) + begin creating their unified legacy as a husband + wife together. A legacy that will last long after they do … one that will impact children, grandchildren, friends, + coworkers. A legacy that each couple chooses to write together, whether that be one of GREAT love, generosity, adventure … you name it. The commitment of a marriage + the CAPABILITIES of that commitment are SO powerful, + that is why we believe in marriage — including our own — and consider it a privilege to share marriage stories that have the possibility of changing lives in one small (or big!) way or another.
SO TODAY. You get to meet a couple who have been through a lot of seasons of life together + still, day in + day out, CHOOSE each other. You can literally SEE it when you look at them + watch them interact … so beautiful, inspiring, + a tangible example of that powerful bond between a husband + wife I was just talking about earlier. Tom + Michele are parents to one of our MMP Brides, who gifted this anniversary session to them a couple of months ago : )
1. Where do you two live + what is one of your favorite things about your city?
Tom + I live in Middleton, Wisconsin. It’s a beautiful place with a great home town feel, good restaurants + beautiful parks. We specifically love Pheasant Branch Conservancy + the Performing Arts Center.
2. How did you two meet + how long have you been married?
We met when we were both selling Real Estate. We have been married 25 years!
3. Tom, what is one of your favorite things about Michele? Michele, what is what of your favorite things about Tom?
T: My favorite thing about Michele is that she is patient + fun to be with. She laughs at my jokes + has a good time. We make a good team.
M: My favorite thing about Tom is that he is interested in what I’m doing + he’s curious about many things. He’s always willing to try + learn about something new. He’s great at finding new ways to solve whatever! He’s adventurous. And he does have great hair. ????
4. What has been a challenge of marriage that you weren’t necessarily expecting? How do you battle that challenge?
I guess a challenge has been not having enough time for each other. We both work hard. We like weekends when we can spend time together. We like to eat out + relax. Traveling together is great.
5. What is one of your favorite things about marriage? What do you love about it?!
We are a good team. We complement each other. It’s always great to discuss and figure something out together. I love that both of us were surprised that we had already been married 25 years. It feels like maybe 2-3. We both feel lucky to have found each other.
