AJ + Ashley | Engaged | A Small Town Engagement Session in New Glarus, Wisconsin.

It all started at camp. And at camp again, one season will end + another will begin. Next summer, AJ + Ashley will be getting MARRIED at Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge in northern Minnesota that is the exact place where they met for the very FIRST time many years ago. Talk about a divine + beautiful full-circle love story!!

We cannot wait for these two to become husband + wife after SO many years together dating + then being engaged. It is going to be such a special day — something we knew from the moment we first met them over a YEAR ago!! We were sitting outside on the patio at a local restaurant in here in Madison, simply getting to know one another better + enjoying some drinks + appetizers : ) As the night went on, Ashley began telling the story about how AJ proposed to her. I remember being so captivated by her story — listening + smiling + asking questions — and then all of a sudden looking over at AJ to give him a little smile + noticing he was just staring at her … quietly crying. He, too, was captivated by her story — THEIR story — and couldn’t help but tear up at the fact that the woman sitting next to him, who he loved more than anything in the world, would one day be his WIFE. It completely opened my eyes to the depth, tenderness, + commitment of the relationship that these two share.

When we met them for their engagement session a week ago, Caleb + I were quickly reminded of the special love shared between these two. Of their hilarious little antics, of their joyful demeanor, + of the way AJ will do anything to make Ashley laugh + feel special. It was SO fun to photograph!! We did their session in a small town outside of Madison called New Glarus — famous for their amazing Spotted Cow beer ; )!!! It was a gorgeous evening + we had a blast exploring the little town with these two!! Enjoy some of our favorites from their session!!
