Remember When is a story-telling series that shares a “favorite memory” of each married couple featured in its pages. As humans, we believe that we desire connection, relating to others, hearing their stories, being encouraged, + celebrating the small moments in life that are simple, positive, + joyful.

So, Paul and Cait, what is your favorite memory together? 

In May of last year (2015), after a year of planning + working our tails off, we launched a mobile extension of our business: Crescendo Mobile Bar. We had the privilege of debuting our sweet little coffee cart at a wedding for some friends we met through our brick + mortar coffee shop.

We had never done an event like this before, but it was the exact reason we created the mobile coffee bar, so we went completely overboard in preparation making sure that we had all of the bases covered to make an awesome first impression! There were no real systems created yet, so we knew that the day would have its challenges, but we were up for it. I should also add that I was 8 months pregnant with our son Casper + it was HOT outside.

I will spare you a lot of the details, but let’s just say it was way more than we bargained for + everything was WAY heavier than we thought. Paul worked like a dog all day + I spent a lot of time giving moral support + offering as much assistance as possible. It was a pretty stressful + clunky situation, but the bride + groom were very pleased + the first event was a screaming success … and we laughed through pretty much the whole thing.

We love this memory because it is very representative of our relationship + marriage.  We plan, + we create, take risks, + we dream a lot. We have high standards + want to always put our best foot forward. But, when push comes to shove, sometimes things just really do not go as planned. Having someone to create the chaos + then laugh through the aftermath with, is truly the sweetest gift.

(Oh and…DO NOT FEAR! Crescendo Mobile Bar is now a well oiled machine!)
