When these two first emailed us, they were only inquiring for an engagement session because they were getting married in Philadelphia + they didn’t know if we would be willing to travel that far to shoot their wedding!! We told them that we actually love traveling + shooting in new places for weddings … and the rest is history! We cannot wait for their celebration in historic downtown Philadelphia next New Years Eve!!

Right from the get-go, our Skype call with Kevin + Katie felt like we were chatting with old friends — they are fun + down-to-earth + just so easy to talk to! We also share a mutual obsession for our fur babies + bonded over the fact that others are as crazy as we are when it comes to loving on our pups! ; ) Our time together during their session was a blast + I am seriously SO excited to share these images with you today!! Kevin + Katie ROCKED it + I’m convinced they made it look like we hired models!! Since these two just moved to Madison a little over a year ago, we wanted to shoot in some iconic Madison/Wisconsin locations for their session — hence the State Capitol + beautiful Lake Wingra!! After rescheduling due to rain, I am SO happy that we got an incredible fall evening + everything turned out just perfect : ) 

What was initially a random meeting at a small get-together at one of their mutual friend’s house (where Kevin just couldn’t keep his eye off such a pretty girl + ended up talking her ear off the whole night!! hehe!!) has now become a forever love story that will span for decades. Kevin proposed at Katie’s family’s beach house in New Jersey, over a weekend when a lot of her family was spending time at the house!! Even though they never typically go for “long walks on the beach”, they had just gotten their golden retriever, Winnie, + Kevin convinced Katie that they should take Winnie down to the sand for a walk. He brought a GoPro + told her that he wanted to get their first family photo together on the beach (she bought this ALL + had NO idea what was about to happen, can you believe it!?! Way to go, Kevin!). The photo turned into a proposal + these two were able to celebrate the rest of the night with her family — an absolutely perfect day in Katie’s book!! I love it : )
