Ben & Lizzie | A Cheerful Winter Engagement Session in Downtown Delafield and Lapham Peak State Park.

We LOVE getting to photograph joyful couples — I mean, who doesn’t?! We always say that we feel so thankful that we always seem to “luck out” with clients who are full of life and love and lots of joy : ) The couple you are about to meet on the blog today … they take joy to a whole new LEVEL, let me tell you. I swear that Ben and Lizzie are BURSTING from the seems with joy that is 1,000% contagious and so, so beautiful : ) I am excited for you to witness it through their images today!

Ben and Lizzie actually grew up (kind of) knowing each other because their parents are good friends! They went to the same church growing up and frequently saw each other there. Several years ago, however, Lizzie’s family started going to a different church. One weekend when she was home from college, they decided to randomly go back to their old church to hear the pastor speak! Well, the two families ran into each other and Ben also happened to be home, so Ben and Lizzie ran into each other and BOTH had the exact same experience during the encounter — “Oh my GOSH. Her/Him! I had forgotten about her/him over the past couple of years but HOLY COW am I freaking out/heart racing/can’t stop smiling as I’m trying to talk to him/her right now! What is going on!?” They each left that Sunday morning and COULDN’T stop thinking about each other : ) For the next couple of hours, Lizzie wondered if anything would happen … Ben consulted his sister for advice … and he ended up reaching out to Lizzie via Facebook messenger. You can bet how this goes … the rest is history.

Their first date was at Lapham Peak State Park where they walked the trails and talked for over eight hours (that is one heck of a first date!). More dates continued for the next two and a half years, until these two found themselves at Lapham Peak once again … only this time, Ben had a question to ask Lizzie that would change their lives forever : ) The proposal took place in a quieter, more secluded area of the park, where Ben got down on one knee and Lizzie said “YES!” : ) She had no idea that Ben also had one more surprise up his sleeve, however, and when he brought her back to her house that evening, both of their families were there waiting to celebrate with them — Lizzie had NO idea and was SO happily surprised!

We went back to Lapham Peak (along with downtown Delafield) for their engagement session this past weekend and simply cannot wait to share their images with you today! Enjoy these two and enjoy their JOY : ) Have a WONDERFUL weekend! xo!
