Last year, I posted about our ski trip with our friends Shane and Devon (as well as the awesome story about how we met these two!). We went north with them to Granite Peak for the closing weekend of the hill (which is in the beginning of April) and we experienced cold Wisconsin temps and a literal blizzard while we were taking our last run down the hill. This year, we went up in the middle of February and got mid-50º temperatures and sweet, glorious sun. It was amazing. And just goes to show how absolutely chaotic and unpredictable a Wisconsin “winter” season can be!

If you follow us on Instagram, you know that I recently learned how to downhill ski! I have only ever known how to snowboard and while I like snowboarding, there are a few things about it that make me really nervous and I am always SO afraid of taking a hard fall (this may or may not come from experience …). A couple of weeks ago, before the trip, I decided to take a ski lesson at a local hill near Madison … and … I … LOVED it!! In my opinion, skiing is much easier (and way less scary!) than snowboarding! So this past weekend, Shane and I skied while Caleb and Devon snowboarded! We had an absolute blast and I could definitely get more used to winter sports if the temperatures were always so warm ; )

You may already know this, but Caleb and I got engaged at Granite Peak and one of the things we wanted to do last year was show Shane and Devon exactly where we got engaged and then, of course, take pictures there! Since we went at the end of the year last year, however, the ski runs and lift by where we got engaged were closed and we were unable to show them the spot. This year was a different story, though! Everything was open and we were able to go back to the exact spot where I said the BEST “yes” of my entire life : ) Enjoy some snaps from our weekend up north and tell me — do we have any other followers who like to ski or snowboard?!
