I first met Patrick during my undergrad at UW-Madison through mutual friends. He was always so energetic, outgoing, and absolutely hilarious — you know, life-of-the-party kind of guy : ) He is so welcoming and fun to be around, you cannot help but love him!! He was also very driven and smart … and I had no doubt he would be very successful wherever life took him!

Caroline I did not know until recently — a couple of weeks ago, I got an email from Patrick telling me that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend and that he would love for us to capture it for her! It was an EPIC proposal and I won’t talk about it anymore in this post because you can read about it and see all the photos in their proposal blog post! The day Caroline said “YES!” was the day we officially met her (although it was only over the phone as she and Patrick were on the top of the State Capitol and we were on an apartment building across the Square!). Just from the call, however, I could tell she had the SAME joy and energy as Patrick!! A perfect match : )

During their engagement session in downtown Madison this past weekend, we got to spend several hours with these two and we had an absolute BLAST with them : ) There was LOTS of laughter and story-telling … and by the end of the night, I know that everyone’s cheeks hurt!! I’m super excited to share these images with you because through Patrick, we had access to two rooftops with KILLER views of the Capitol and State Street! These spots made for some pretty epic photos — just like their proposal! With Patrick, it’s kinda like you go big or you go home : ) And I love it!!!

Caroline is the perfect match for Patrick and together I don’t think they will ever stop laughing … and hugging and kissing : ) At least that is most definitely my wish for them and their future marriage. Caroline is an elementary school teacher (she has a heart of gold) AND she teaches Pure Barre classes five days a week (she has legs and abs of steel!). This girl is a total catch and I am SOOO glad that their friends set them up on that first blind date : ) The rest is history!!!

We are over the moon to be shooting Patrick and Caroline’s wedding THIS September in downtown Madison — more JOY from these two to come!! Until then, enjoy some of our favorites from their engagement session!!!! Love you guys!!
