WHERE to even begin with these two!? I knew from the moment Brooke first emailed us that I was going to absolutely LOVE this woman (and of course, her hubby-to-be, too!). Brooke is full to the brim with joy, excitement, and she emails JUST like me … so I totally get this girl and I think it’s safe to say we are kindred spirits : )

Growing Up

Jordan and Brooke both grew up in northern Wisconsin and Jordan actually grew up in the same hometown as Caleb! We have SO many connections with these two — it’s actually pretty amazing — and makes our relationship with them and the fact that we get to document this season of life for them even that much more special!! Caleb’s grandma is good friends with Jordan’s parents and Brooke grew up dancing and teaching for my aunt! She still teaches dance at my aunt’s studio to this day : )

Though they went to different high schools, a friend set these two up in HIGH SCHOOL (am I the only one amazed by this!?! I thought blind dates were only for adults!!!) and the rest is history! They are so similar to Caleb and I in their differences and of course, I’m biased, but it’s what makes them SUCH a good team!!!

The Makings of a Perfect Session

On the day of Jordan and Brooke’s session, it was predicted to rain … ALL day long. We were a bit worried that we would have to reschedule but as you can see, that was not the case! We drove out to Jordan and Brooke’s session while it was still raining so that we would be prepared to go as soon as the rain let up! We LOVED just getting to hang out with these two, get a tour of their home, learn more about their story, AND meet their Bernese Mountain Dog, Burma (who is named after the road that is the halfway point between their two houses growing up, where they would meet when seeing each other!!). I am literally obsessed with Burma — she is SOOOOO cute and I just love her personality! I honestly would steal her if wasn’t mean to do so … I think her and Vivian would get along so well!!! ; ) Jordan and Brooke are head over heels for their fur baby and we totally get it!!

A Special Place for the Session

Once the rain let up, we had the most AMAZING session with these two at The Cranberry Marsh! The Marsh is just down the road for their home and the place where Jordan works full time with his dad and brother (it’s quite incredible!). They produce MILLIONS of pounds of cranberries per year for Ocean Spray (so buy Ocean Spray cranberries!!). We drove around the marsh, took photos, and also had our very own private field trip learning all about how cranberries are grown and harvested! It was honestly SO fascinating and SO much fun. I just cannot reiterate what a blast we had with these two!

At the end of the night, the sun came out and we had a sunset to complete the end of a wonderful evening! I am convinced I could shoot at cranberry marshes all the time. The reservoirs, colors, paths and roads create amazing composition for photos … it was all just too good : ) Enjoy some of our favorites from Jordan and Brooke’s session!!!!

The red was SUCH a good choice for the colors in the cranberry marsh — especially when the sun came out!!!

This is a cranberry plant! Cranberries get their name from the shape of the plant they grow on — see how those little red hooks look like CRANES?!! ; ) We learned SO much!!
