Our first meeting with Jerry and Jenna was totally unexpected. We were at Ever After — A Luxury Wedding Show at the Edgewater and these two were recently engaged. They came up to us, introduced themselves, and eventually shared that they had been following our story and business on social media. I felt so comfortable with them right from the start and I fell in love with their joy and authenticity. We joked about how nerve-wrecking the thought of being in front of the camera can be and I assured them that if we worked together, I would tell them what to do with their hands!! (This is always such a worry for people and I totally get it!!!). The next day they were “officially” a 2018 couple and we were absolutely THRILLED to be welcoming such a kind, down-to-earth couple of our #maisonmeredithbride family : )
When they walked up to meet us for their session, I think I screamed … or whistled … or something like that ; ) Jerry and Jenna looked SO good! They kind of made me feel like I was photographing two celebrities and let me tell you, I was not complaining!!! : ) I have total hair envy over Jenna’s gorgeous long blonde hair and, okay, over her smile, too! It is absolutely contagious!! We laughed the night away with these two and it felt like we had known them for years : ) I also have to thank Jerry for introducing me to one of my now favorite songs during the session, Leave Right Now by Thomas Rhett!!
One thing we knew going into the session was that Jerry and Jenna have super cool careers — Jerry makes all the videos for the UW Badger Football team (current and alumni Badgers, you know all those awesome pump up videos they play before and during the games?! Yeah, THOSE!!!) and Jenna is a dance therapist. Jenna’s specific job is so unique that she works in Milwaukee for it (which is 1.5 hours away from Madison where these two live) and she makes this commute EVERY single day. One and a half hours there AND back. I literally cannot imagine doing this but as I was talking to her about it, she was nothing but smiles and so, so positive. She actually didn’t even say a negative thing about the commute at all, she only kept talking about how she 1. Loves what she gets to do and 2. Wants to support Jerry in his career that has to have him here in Madison. She GLADLY makes that drive every day so that she can watch her husband-to-be pursue his dreams and do something that he is so good at and loves so much. I’m not sure why, but hearing her talk about this was SO incredibly inspiring to me and I think speaks volumes about this couple. They are a team, they support and encourage each other 100% to chase after their life’s calling, and they love with a selfless and sacrificial love. Just beautiful!!!
Enjoy our favorites from this engagement session! Jerry and Jenna — we LOVEEEE you!
I am obsessing over these tones!!!
