Oh man, have I been dying to photograph these two on the blog today!! We finally had their session last week and it was SO good for the soul to spend time with Rob and Shannon. Since the first time I emailed with Shannon, I knew we were “soul mates” of sorts ; ) She gets (like totally gets!) my love for smiley faces and exclamation points and she is SO good at using her words to communicate love and be encouraging. After many emails back and forth, I was so excited just to HUG this girl!!

With how wonderful I knew that Shannon already was, I couldn’t wait to meet Rob : ) Caleb and I quickly concluded that he might just be the nicest guy we have ever met. You can tell that he would give you the shirt off his back if need be. He is kind, sweet, funny, and down-to-earth. He is also a model in front of the camera — holy cow, Rob! This guy made my job sooooo easy (so did Shannon, but just one look at her and there is no further explanation needed!).

Rob and Shannon live in Iowa (they are also getting married there — we can’t wait for their hometown wedding!) so they made a day trip up to Madison to explore the city and have their engagement photos taken : ) They were also celebrating Shannon’s birthday!! We met them downtown by the Capitol for their first set of photos and then finished our time together at the beautiful Vilas Park on Lake Wingra. Thank you, Jesus, for such a beautiful sunset for these two!! After the session, Rob took Shannon out for a romantic birthday dinner (and from what I heard, they had an AMAZING time and the most delicious dinner!) : )

While I am SO excited to share my favorites from their engagement session on the blog today, I absolutely cannot WAIT for Rob and Shannon’s wedding next October! After seeing a photo of Shannon in her dress … my GOSH!! She is going to look INCREDIBLE. That’s all I will say ; ) Without further adieu, meet this lovely 2018 couple that we absolutely ADORE!!
