Lucas & Alison | A Fall Wedding at The Barn at Harvest Moon Pond in Poynette, Wisconsin.

This is our last wedding for a couple of months! I truly couldn’t think of a better day (or honestly, a more wonderful couple if we’re being completely honest!) to end our busy stretch of this 2017 season with. Lucas and Alison are one of the most kind and down-to-earth couples we have ever had the pleasure of working with!! Leading up to their day (and about 1,000 times ON their day!) Alison would always share how thankful and excited she was to be working with us. She has been such a blessing and encouragement to me since we’ve gotten to know these two and I simply want her to know that : )!!

Almost EIGHT years ago, these two began their relationship and it is one that I think a lot of people didn’t see coming! One of my favorite parts about Lucas and Alison’s day was how involved their families were and something everyone kept talking about was how, at first, they never thought Lucas and Alison would “last” because they have SUCH different personalities. Yet, in their vows, each of them shared that their differences and unique perspectives on life have made each into the more full, more rich, and more well-rounded people they are today. While some might initially think that such extreme differences would make things more challenging, these two have proven (above and beyond!!) that differences make a stronger, more relatable, more complete team : ) And over the years, I think it’s safe to say that these two have become more similar than they might even realize : )

When we arrived to The Barn at Harvest Moon Pond for Lucas and Alison’s day, we were greeted by a work-horse team of Alison’s family members, setting up all the décor for the upcoming celebration. I was literally SO AMAZED how, in just a couple of hours, this crew made a completely bare barn look like the coziest, dreamiest fall wedding you ever did see. And all-the-while, cracking jokes and in the BEST, most joyful spirits : ) I love how close-knit this family is — they are definitely #familygoals ; ) Over the course of the day, Caleb and I had a chance to have some lengthier conversations with some of these family members that were just so life-giving for us. It was an amazing day and knowing where Lucas and Alison come from makes complete sense as to why they are as wonderful as they are!!

While the brand new Below’s are hiking their way through the gorgeous Bali (!!!), let’s relive their day on the blog today, shall we?! And don’t worry, they have internet and can look at this too! I confirmed, hehe : ) What a day … what a SEASON!!! ENJOY!!
