Scott & Erin | A Cozy Engagement Session at Picnic Point & Downtown Madison in Madison, Wisconsin.

This is the last engagement session for the foreseeable future as we approach slow season … and I am just so happy to be finishing 2017 with Scott and Erin! These two are about as beautiful and kind as they come : ) My first two thoughts/observations about them when we met for their engagement session were 1. “They both have PERFECT, dental-magazine-ad-worthy teeth” and 2. “They literally brought us a bottle of wine that Scott’s dad made — they speak my love language!” : ) Hehe! But in all seriousness, I KNEW I was going to love these two after chatting with Erin back-and-forth via email and our time with them during their engagement session confirmed just that! They are kind, down-to-earth, and just so ridiculously adorable together : )

Scott and Erin actually met because their younger siblings set them up!! I LOVE this story (partially because their relationship is a family affair and partially because it is my dream to set two people up so I always melt a bit over these kind of love stories!!). Their younger siblings met during college and became friends … and then decided that they wanted to set up their older siblings because they believed Scott and Erin would be perfect for each other. Well, they were right!! After first connecting on the phone and talking for awhile that way, Scott and Erin finally met in person and completely hit it off that very first night : )

Since Erin was getting her Masters at The University of Iowa and Scott was attending school and wrestling at The University of Wisconsin-Madison (these are big rival schools, by the way!), they were long-distance for the beginning of their relationship! I am such a believer in long-distance relationships — Caleb and I were long distance our entire relationship and while it can be SO hard at times, I really think the pros far outweigh the cons! One side note that I also want to quick mention is that during the session, when we found out that Scott is not only a UW Alum but he also wrestled for UW, we freaked out a bit because one of our friends is the wrestling coach at UW and it is just such a fun (and unexpected!) connection to have with these two : )

Scott proposed to Erin on a trip to Alaska, surrounded by the most breath-taking scenery you ever did see! I wish I could have photographed that proposal — holy GORGEOUS!! They are getting married next September in Dubuque, Iowa and we could not be more excited to celebrate with them and their friends and family! It’s going to be one FUN and incredibly stunning day!
