We haven’t shot an engagement session in a LONG time and I have been just itching to get behind the camera again and meet the rest of our 2018 couples and 2019 couples! One of the things I love most about our job is finally getting to meet and know the couples we have the privilege of working with!

We met Riley and Kourtney in downtown Chicago for their engagement session last week. While Riley is currently finishing his Master’s degree in Wisconsin, Kourtney is in school in Chicago and the city seemed like the perfect backdrop for their winter engagement session. Kourtney loves the city and is still trying to convince Riley about how great it is — I’m hoping these engagement photos will do the trick ; )

Riley and Kourtney have known each other for many, many years. During their session, Kourtney shared with me that they both went to the same Christian summer camp growing up and she remembers Riley as “the cute kid with the white hat.” Her and her friend still joke sometimes that she is actually marrying that white-hat-boy! I just loved hearing how God has worked and moved in the timing of their love story.

The thing I noticed most about Riley and Kourtney was how incredibly comfortable and natural they were together. They truly have such a beautiful partnership that is also sweet, playful, and incredibly unified. I also couldn’t help but notice the way that Riley looks at Kourtney (and couldn’t stop kissing her : )) and how his presence just seemed to give Kourtney so much joy and confidence. Needless to say, they were SO much fun to spend an afternoon with and SO easy to photograph.

We cannot wait for their wedding this June — but until then, enjoy some of our favorites from their Windy City engagement session!!
