All week storms were predicted for Jerry and Jenna’s day. I was a bit nervous knowing they were planning an outdoor garden wedding and I think Jerry and Jenna were just a bit more nervous than I was … Jerry might have confessed to all of us that he had been checking the weather every hour on the hour for the past couple of weeks! I totally get this! We had an outdoor wedding too and it can be just a little bit nerve-wrecking to try to plan around something so ultimately unpredictable and uncontrollable!! But … the weather was PERFECT on their day. It didn’t rain once and the sun even came out for most of the day! We couldn’t believe it but we were all just so, so thankful! I’m extra thankful because their pictures are just so beautiful!

When we started the day, after spending just 10 minutes in the room with Jenna’s family and bridesmaids, I knew we were in for a treat of a day. Everyone was so welcoming and outgoing and honestly, just so much FUN! Our morning together really set the tone for the rest of the day — tons of laughter and singing and playfulness and JOY. You really can’t ask for a better day than that! It was an amazing reminder of how important it is to surround yourself with people who lift you up, bring you joy, and believe in you 110%. I’m just so thankful to get to witness not only the relationships of our couples but the ones that they have with their families and friends as well : )

Jerry and Jenna’s ceremony was at The Allen Centennial Gardens on the UW Campus and … I mean … you just can’t go wrong with a ceremony at a botanical garden! Everywhere you turn are blooms and greenery and beautiful landscaping — it’s a photography heaven! They were able to have their outdoor ceremony without a tent and surrounded by a gathering of their beloved friends and family. After the ceremony, everyone headed to the Memorial Union on Lake Mendota to celebrate with the cocktail hour and reception. Views of the terrace below and sailboats out on the lake were a magical backdrop for the evening! To top it all off, the UW Marching Band kicked off the reception with an energetic and interactive show! What an AMAZING day it was! So happy for you Jerry & Jenna — we love you guys!!
