I shared in a recent Instagram post that if your best friends have to move across the country, you better hope it’s to San Diego! It is such a beautiful city with perfect weather year round. The first time we visited Ann Marie and Jared last winter, we fell in love with San Diego. The ocean, palm trees, mountains, beaches, hiking trails, sunshine, “good vibes” … there really is a lot to love! We would visit these guys every year no matter where they were, but being in Southern California is a big bonus!
This year was extra special because three of us couples/friends from college all went out to visit the Widders together! We all stayed with them in their new house … which was just like one big giant slumber party for not only us but the kids! Theo was THRILLED to have so many adults staying in his house and his little extroverted heart was overflowing with excitement all week.
On our way home from the airpot, Caleb and I were reflecting on the trip and we both agreed it was the perfect getaway to end our 2018 busy season. Yes, we did outings everyday, exploring new parts of San Diego together. But we also hung out at home, went for walks in the neighborhood, and played lots of cards/games. It was so wonderful to catch up with everyone, share meals together, go on adventures but then also just relax and simply BE together. We came home feeling so refreshed and ready to finish out this busy time of editing strong!
AM, Jared, Theo, Leena, Adam, Callie, Luiza & Pete — love you all SO much and so grateful to call you some of our dearest friends!!! We had an amazing, amazing week with you and thank God for each of you and your unique gifts and ways of showing love and kindness to not only us but those around you. We miss you already … <3 xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo!
The woman below made fresh tortillas at Cafe Coyote in Old Town and they were AMAZING!!
Since it was just Día de los Muertos, we got to see a lot of the décor still up! SO pretty and colorful!
Love these people!!!
