These sessions almost didn’t happen! I swear, it was seeming like we had the worst luck with choosing a mini session date and getting good weather! We pick these dates almost a year in advance due to our busy summer wedding season schedule, so there is absolutely NO way to know what is going to happen weather-wise! The past two sessions we had rainy conditions and colder-than-normal weather, so when summer thunderstorms were predicted for June’s minis, I just couldn’t believe it! Then, when it was down-pouring at 12:00 on the day of the sessions, I thought we were doomed! But the weather app said less than 20% chance of rain at the time when the sessions were scheduled to happen and so we decided to go for it. I’m SO GLAD we did!
We ended up having almost ideal conditions for the sessions — overcast and a slight breeze kept us cooler in our usual Wisconsin humidity! The lighting was perfect for the location we chose at Olin Park near downtown Madison and I am just SO happy with how these turned out! They just scream summer … JOY …. family … happiness … etc!! I am truly so thankful that each one of these families allowed us to document them in their current stage of life, to preserve the memories of that season. It is honestly something we don’t take lightly and I am thankful for clients who value photos AND who let us know how much they appreciate them! It really doesn’t get any better : )
