Niccole + Scott | For Photographers | Our First Wedding.

June 12, 2015

Recently, Caleb has been organizing a lot of our back end stuff for the business–photos, folders, documents, you name it! He is amazing at this + I am so thankful for him (for MANY reasons, but this is one of them!!)

A couple of days ago, I was out in the living room editing a recent wedding when he called me into the office … I’m pretty sure I begrudgingly responded, “Do you really NEED to come in there right now?” to which he then responded, “I just want to show you something. Please?!” As he had been organizing the photos, he came across the pictures from the FIRST wedding we ever shot + decided to put them together in a little slide show (the couple in these images are some of our dear friends) + so the combination of reliving their day (to a song I LOVE) as well as seeing just how far we’ve come since this very first day, had me in a whirlwind of emotions : )

I’ll never forget that very first wedding. We weren’t even officially a business yet … if I’m being completely honest. I was a bridesmaid + so Caleb shot the whole ceremony by himself. Then I would help set up bridal party pictures + run + jump in the picture!! It was a crazy-beautiful day. Leading up to it, we scoped + planned, + then planned some more, + let’s be real, we were SO nervous!! Can anyone relate?! We rented a lens to use during the ceremony (because we had basically no gear at this point in time) that was supposed to arrive the day before the ceremony. I missed the delivery man (which had to be signed for), so Caleb ended up tracking him down through a local Fed Ex Office. I mean, we were NEWBIES. But we had a blast. And that’s our beginning. Together.

We figured sharing these photos would hopefully be an encouragement to new photographers that we all start somewhere + that practice, education, + dedication PAY OFF. Have a beautiful weekend : )
