I’m really going to try to keep this short so it doesn’t turn into a blabbering mess of a thank you post.

It was 5 YEARS ago this month that I sat across the table from my best friend’s parents at my local hometown pizza place in Central Wisconsin. I had just officially/legally opened Maison Meredith Photography earlier that day. I so vividly remember Papa J’s huge smile as he made a toast to the business and told me how much he believed in me.

This couple is also parent’s to my best friend’s older sister … the one who messaged me on Facebook just over seven years ago asking if I would ever consider taking engagement photos for her friends (read the full story on that and how I “got into photography” here!).

5 years ago.

That’s just crazy.

It feels like its FLOWN by and yet this is really the only career I’ve ever known. For us, this month is a HUGE milestone in our business and honestly, we couldn’t possibly feel more thankful for the journey its taken us on.

It’s a journey that hasn’t always been easy … but nothing good, nothing really WORTH it or worth fighting for ever is easy. At least I’ve found that to be true in my own life and I know Caleb would say the same!

While these past five years have brought us some pretty incredible experiences, the best of all are the things this business has taught us about marriage, about God, and about ourselves. Getting to work together and getting to work with SO many couples (well over 150!) has been, by FAR, the greatest part of the journey.

So thank you, from the greatest depths of our hearts, for following and supporting us on this journey. We literally thank God for you every single day : )

To celebrate 5 years, we wanted to do two things!

1. Share a photo from every year that we have photographed a wedding. Our very first wedding was actually in 2012, before Maison Meredith Photography was a “real” thing. It was the only wedding we shot that year and it was for two of our dearest friends. I was getting ready to spend a year overseas doing mission work and their form of payment was to financially support me for the trip — so don’t worry, we didn’t do anything illegal!!!! ; ) These photos are below!
2. A GIVEAWAY!!! With a twist : ) How could we not? In a nod to SO many who have supported and given to us over the years, we want to give back WITH you! We will be randomly selecting one lucky winner who will get to choose a charity/organization of their choice and we will donate $500 to that charity/organization! We will also send you a $25 Chipotle gift card because, well, Chipotle + date night = our jam : )
