We met them at the spot where they got engaged. Something I love so much about Stephen and Nicole is how intentional they are — not only with each other, but with those around them. From day one, they have both been such an encouragement to us and I am so thankful to work with a couple who so deeply values photography for its gift of capturing moments and memories and experiences that they never want to forget.

Stephen and Nicole live in Washington DC where they both work in very prestigious careers. However, being from Wisconsin and meeting in Milwaukee, it only made sense for them to celebrate their engagement and wedding back in a city that means so much to them (there we go with the intentionality again!). Like I said, we met at the spot where they got engaged, just outside of the apartment where they first met and where they eventually formed so many memories together. Stephen and Nicole wanted to do the entire session in their old neighborhood because it was a place that is super special to them and a place they wanted to have photos of themselves in to remember. Stephen kept saying how nostalgic he felt all night long and shared various memories of their time together in Milwaukee during the session. It made me really, really happy : ) We honestly just had so much fun getting to know these two better … chatting about their love of music (well, Stephen’s love of music!), fine dining, their dog Buddy, and the work they are doing out in DC. It was such a relaxing, fun, and enjoyable evening together!

Stephen and Nicole are getting married this August at the historic Pfister hotel in downtown Milwaukee. Nicole’s vision for a timeless, classic day has me SO excited (plus the fact that their beagle, Buddy, will be there!!!). We cannot wait to celebrate them with their friends and family but until then, enjoy some of our favorites from their engagement session!

They introduced us to Brady Street in Milwaukee and now we have to go back!! SUCH a fun area!! Love that it also holds such a special place in their story : )
