We have a unique post today that I can’t wait to share! A couple of months ago, we got an email from Andrew and Lisa saying they were having a small, intimate, Monday night wedding at a beautiful botanical garden here in Madison. It would include only their closest family and friends with a dinner party celebration to follow. They were wondering if we would be open to shooting it …

OH MY GOSH, YES!!!!

We told them that we would be more than just open to it — we would LOVE to and be absolutely honored to document such a life-changing moment in their relationship! The thing about weddings is that it doesn’t matter how big or how small they are, how many guests, where they take place, a wedding is one of the most influential moments in someone’s life and to be given the opportunity to preserve those memories until the end of time is such a gift. We were just thrilled : )

We didn’t get to meet Andrew and Lisa until ON their wedding day but I am so thankful that we hit it off immediately! They are two of the nicest people and spending time with them was natural, easy, and FUN : ) On top of that, they are beautiful humans and so, SO in love. Andrew’s smile spanned from ear to ear all night long and when we first started talking with them he said, “I’m just so so happy right now.” That kind of excitement is so fun to photograph … when the couple yes, listens and does what you tell them, but then gets so lost in the moment and being with each other that they forget you’re there. The sweetest : ) I am so excited to share these!

Andrew & Lisa’s ceremony on the bridge included their immediate families, grandparents, and just a few close friends. There was lots of laughter (and tears!) and the officiant, Chris, did an amazing job telling their story and sharing memories of the couple with all of us : ) The rain held off JUST in time for the ceremony and for us to get some family photos! As everyone was getting into their cars for dinner, it started to come down and I couldn’t help but think how perfect their special day was. Before the ceremony, we had to make a stop for photos at Lisa’s favorite tree! The gardens where Andrew and Lisa got married are actually on the UW-Madison campus where they both went to school and over the course of her time at UW, this became Lisa’s favorite tree : )
