In 2013, I photographed Alexis’ senior photos. She was one of my first clients! I am getting all sappy and sentimental writing that but gosh, this session feels just a little extra special to me personally! Both Alexis and Ryan are from my hometown which is (quite obviously) where they met TEN years ago when she was a sophomore and he was a senior! They worked in the same potato chip factory during those high school days — though this is not where their love story began — and these two have now walked through some of life’s biggest changes, together : )
Ryan & Alexis both live and work right here in Madison! She is a first grade teacher and he works for the State of Wisconsin! They are both passionate about what they do AND very good at it, a win-win : ) They also happen to be two of the kindest and most down-to-earth people you will ever meet. Though we are from the same small town, a bit of an age difference meant this was actually my first time ever meeting Ryan! After, no joke, about five minutes into our time together, I felt like I had known him for years : ) They are incredibly easy to talk to … Ryan is witty and so polite, Alexis is gentle and extremely thoughtful. I enjoyed my time with them SO MUCH!!
It was a warm summer evening … after so many storms lately I am thankful for a clear forecast! We met at the Capitol to start the session and ended at one of my favorite little spots, Period Garden Park : ) I am super excited for Ryan & Alexis’ wedding next year in Door County! A special place to them and where Ryan COMPLETELY surprised Alexis with his proposal last year : ) It’s going to be just beautiful and we cannot wait to celebrate with these two!!
