He was her math tutor. She was a sophomore + he was a senior … in high school. That’s right–another set of high school sweet hearts over here! It seems like lately nearly all the couples I have been meeting have been together since high school!! Which makes for lots of cool–and sometimes comical–stories : )

Lowell + Katie met through tutoring, however it wasn’t until they spent many late nights together at a local truck stop drinking coffee + sharing deep conversations with friends about life + faith that they really, truly, got to know one another. Their relationship has been through some hills + some valleys, but God’s faithfulness + redemption holds fast yet again + these two are now getting MARRIED this January!! I’m so, so excited for them. It’s about time : )

On the day of their session, it was down pouring, windy, + about 35 degrees. And no one–photographer included–had warm clothes!! We were planning to do the whole session outside by the lake, but that obviously wasn’t going to work (although we did catch a small window in which we were able to sneak some shots on the pier!!). Instead, Wisconsin weather kept us on our toes again + we had to quickly improvise!! Let’s just say, the shoot turned out just as it was supposed to : )

We began at a local coffee shop, Little Fat Gretchen’s in Waupaca, WI, which couldn’t have set the scene better considering how much these two LOVE coffee dates + the fact that Lowell proposed to Katie by having a barista write “Will You Marry Me?” in Katie’s latte a few months back ; ) We then headed to a local Greenhouse, Silver Mist Garden Center, in which we quickly found ourselves sweating like crazy (maybe it was just me?!) due to the humidity/temperature inside (it was quite the change of temperatures!!). However, the flowers surrounding us were BEAUTIFUL + we were able to get some really colorful + fun yet intimate shots of these two love bugs : )
