Well, it’s finally booked!!! We are going on a HONEYMOON!! We weren’t able to go directly after our wedding because we had taken the weekend before our wedding off (to prep for the day) + the weekend of off (to get married!!), + we simply just couldn’t justify taking three weekends in a row off in the middle of our busiest season to go on a honeymoon!! SO, why not go during the slow season, when it’s usually around -50 degrees in Wisconsin, anyway!? It made WAY more sense!! And now we have something super exciting to look forward to in February!! 

When we began the planning process a little over a month ago, we quickly realized we were in WAY over our heads. All we knew was we wanted to go somewhere warm. But where? What’s the best deal? What’s worth it? What are we really getting? How do we get there? Oh, we had no idea where to even begin!! And the last thing we wanted was to feel stressed about planning our special trip!! That’s where Mrs. Lori Meicher of All About Honeymoons & Destination Weddings comes in. This lady was our lifesaver!! She was referred to us by some close friends who had also used her services to plan their honeymoon + had nothing but wonderful things to say!! Lori, essentially, plans your honeymoon for you (like a travel agent of sorts). We simply had to tell her the type of place we were interested in going, what kind of food we like, activities we like … what was important regarding rooms, etc., + she narrowed it down to a handful of places she knew we would love. The best part? It’s FREE. A FREE SERVICE!!! Can you believe it?! The resorts actually pay her for booking us!! It’s a win-win for everyone!! I’m serious–this is the real deal–SO EASY + wonderful : )

We chose Huatluco on the Southwestern coast of Mexico because of it’s beaches AND mountains!! It’s the best of both worlds : ) We can relax + eat amazing food, but also hike, visit nearby villages, + get a tour of a local coffee plantation!! Oooooh, we can’t wait!!! We will definitely be taking LOTS of pictures, but for now, I just wanted to share this exciting news!!! Have a beautiful weekend, everyone!! -M
