As we are coming to a close on our 2014 season (one wedding tomorrow + one in December!!!) I have been reminiscing on all of the wonderful, beautiful weddings we have had the PRIVILEGE of being a part of!!! We really do have the best job. Ever. But the point of this post is not to rave about our amazing clients (that is a different post all in itself!), but rather to share with you my Top 3 favorite trends from the 2014 wedding season!! It was so hard to narrow it down to just three, however I love these three trends so much that I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing them again in 2015!!!

1. Garden-y Flowers

If you haven’t figured it out about me already, I LOVE FLOWERS. Oh my. Looooooove. They have the ability to immediately brighten my day + put me in a better mood!! They are SO beautiful, smell amazing (for the most part!!), + can turn any ordinary space into something that will make your jaw drop. In my opinion, they have the power to take the look + feel of a wedding to a whole other level!! Investing in a great florist + fabulous flowers is never a bad idea (in my little photographer mind!!) Here are some of my favorites from our season!!

Evolutions in Design from Tim + Janelle’s wedding knocked it out of the park!! Those ranunculus are to die for!!! (My fav!!)

The peonies + dahlias in Devon’s bouquet–mixed with a few succulents?!–yes, please!!!

More ranunculus, roses, hydrangeas + hypericums made for some gorgeous flowers at Kari + Ryan’s wedding!! I mean, that cake!!! I didn’t want them to cut it!! Hehe : )

2. Cathedral Veils

 A photographer’s dream!! The romance that these super long, flowy veils can bring to a portrait shot make my heart aflutter!! I always squeal a little bit inside when a bride pulls out her veil + it’s cathedral length!! Melissa’s veil (below) was by far our longest of the season : )

3. Gold Accents

Last, but certainly not least!! You have to KNOW by now I am a sucker for all things gold!! (Just look at my jewelry collection! And our apartment decor!!) I love, love, love the timelessness + classiness of gold … it will never go “out of style”! It can be the perfect enhancement to almost any wedding’s color palette + this season, I was so glad to see it make it’s way into so many of our bride + groom’s days!

Adding gold accents to the reception space can really enhance its elegance + even ambience, in my opinion!! I love the look of reception lighting when there are gold accents in the room!!

And gold in the details?! Sparkly shoes? And wedding dresses?! More, please!! I’m hooked!!!

Janelle had all her bridesmaids wear a different shade of gold/champagne + my oh my, their look was my favorite of the season!!!
