Personal post on the blog today : ) To begin, you will notice the interestingly edited why-is-Caleb’s-head-cut-off-in-every-picture iPhone images above … I have too many of these on my phone, but it seems to me that these images always do a really good job of capturing us. And I just love them. Oh, that middle image? It’s a picture from our FIRST date ever, by the way ; )
Anyway, I’m just doing this short post of reflection because tomorrow we leave for our CONNECT marriage retreat for couples in photography + while I’m mostly excited, there are a lot of emotions running through my mind + body. One is that we are going to be meeting some of the BEST photographers in the nation—couples who I look up to, admire + inspire me day in + day out to take better images, serve clients with love + respect, + to work really, really hard. I’m probably going to be a little starstruck!! : ) Second is that I can’t wait to spend 5 consecutive days with Caleb! You may or may not know this, but our entire relationship has been long distance + I’m not sure we’ve ever spent this many days together? Maybe one other time … so that will be so wonderful : ) The third + most influential emotion I’m experiencing is anticipation.
Anticipation to learn, absorb, grow + hear from Jesus.
We are in a very transitional season of life + there are a lot of unknowns that lie ahead for Caleb + I. Where we will live? When will this be decided by? Will Caleb find a job in Madison or be full-time in his role in MMP? What will it look like to be fully, completely on our own–health insurance, mortgage payments, cell phone bills!! What is in store for us in married life? What does the future look like for MMP? I’ll admit that a lot of times, these unknowns can be really scary for me … for both of us. But at the end of the day, we know our God is in control + will take care of us. We are heading to CONNECT with hearts anxious to hear from Him + follow wherever He is leading us. If you think of it and want to, we would love for you to say a prayer for us! : ) thank you.
On a business-y note, the conference is “unplugged”, so I will be out of the office for the week!! AHHH–this is not a good feeling for me, but I know it is just what we need. As always–it cannot be said enough–thank you for your love + support of us + of MMP! I think there are a lot of exciting + sweet things ahead : ) Blessings, M.
