“When they look at each other, you can just see their happiness,” Caleb whispered to me during their engagement session. I couldn’t agree more. Colin + Heather truly embody that quote, you know the one that goes, “Whatever souls are made of, his + mine are the same.” That one. Brought together by fate, spanning deployments, time overseas, many Skype calls, + lots of “I love yous”, these two are just such kind, kind human beings + simply so sweet : )
We first bonded with Colin + Heather over our mutual love for dogs + specifically, our obsessions for our own fur babies!! C+H have two rescue pups, one named Brody that Colin rescued while stationed in Hawaii + one named Ace that they got last year for Heather’s birthday!! When it came time for him to propose, including the dogs was a must for Colin : ) A few years ago, when Colin left for Afghanistan, he gave Heather one of his dog tags to hold on to. She also got a dog tag made for Colin with a little love saying that he always said to her engraved on it. During their time apart, these tags where something tangible they could hold on to when they were majorly missing each other (I love them). To prep for the proposal which happened this year in February, Colin snuck into Heather’s room + stole all the dog tags she had acquired over the past couple of years. He added one to the collection that said, “Will you marry dad?” + tied them around Brody’s collar : ) When Heather saw the tags, she was freaked out + obviously said YES!!!!! And now Brody + Ace’s momma + dad are getting married next September : )
We spent the afternoon with Colin + Heather at Doctor’s Park in Bayside, WI which has a beautiful Wisconsin-esque beachfront along Lake Michigan! Amazing weather, SUCH GREAT company : ), + a session that I am SO excited to share with you!!! ENJOY!
Love these!!! : )
Oh, you two <3
A new FAVORITE.
We then built this little driftwood house for the session … okay, no we didn’t, it was just THERE!! How cute?!!?
Ahhhhh, I have no words you two!! I LOVE this!!! : )
