As you can probably guess, I am extra excited to share today’s session with you because of the type of session it is — Anniversary!! These sessions are just so near + dear to our hearts because, well, we LOVE marriage : ) They are an opportunity for us to meet + work with a couple who has chosen to do something to celebrate their marriage. And the couple always has something to share, or something we can learn from their experience, + that is something Caleb + I just love so much!! We become better people individually + as husband + wife by walking alongside others + learning from them!! To top it all off, the couple on the blog today have an adorable old pup, Jake, who tagged along for the session + you know that just MADE our day!! Meet Justin + Tara, + enjoy our favorite images from their session :)!!

1. Where do you two live + what is one of your favorite things about your city?

Wisconsin Dells – it’s our hometown where both of us grew up + went to high school. Favorite things … The Wisconsin River is one of our favorite places to be + we are lucky to have a boat just three blocks from our house, so we try to get out there as much as possible!

2. How did you two meet + how long have you been married?

We went to high school together so we knew of each other, but it was five years or so after we graduated that we reconnected at the Showboat while I (Tara) was home from college waitressing + Justin was just opening the High Rock Cafe. We have been together for 11 years + married for 6 years!

3. Justin, what is one of your favorite things about Tara?

Her love to travel + to be spontaneous.

Tara, what is what of your favorite things about Justin?

He is one of the most thoughtful + generous people that I have ever met.

4. What has been a challenge of marriage that you weren’t necessarily expecting?

We have been trying to have children for several years + have undergone numerous infertility treatments. It has been really hard on both of us on so many different levels. Although it has been extremely emotionally painful, it has truly brought us closer than we could have ever imagined. It has made us appreciate the good in our lives + has made our love for each other even stronger.

How do you battle that challenge? We communicate + be kind to one another – always remembering that we are in this together + that our marriage is the most important thing. <<<I love this!!! Amen : )

5. What is one of your favorite things about marriage?

Having a best friend that is there for you no matter what, always having someone who you can count on + share all of your feelings with, whether they are good or bad <3
