Sometimes, God works in really mysterious ways. When we started this business, I never would have guessed that future clients of ours would one day truly become some of our very best friends. But — it happened : ) And we are so thankful for His ways!

Shane + Devon got married three months before we did. Once our own wedding day happened + Caleb moved to Madison, these two became one of our very first “married couple” friends! Nine months after we got married, we bought our first condo … right next door to Shane + Devon : ) We LOVE being neighbors with these two — sharing weekly PIC (Partners in Chipotle) nights, doggy play dates, game nights, weekend getaways, + neighborly chats at the mailbox ; )

This past weekend, we brought these two up to Caleb’s hometown for one last ski/snowboard trip of the season before Wisconsin (hopefully) warms up for spring! We had the strangest weather for our day on the hill … alternating between warm sun + windy, whiteout snow conditions. So sometimes skiing was great + other times we just booked it for the chalet! (However, one time, the conditions changed while we were on the chair lift up the hill + we found ourselves snowboarding to the bottom of the hill in conditions where we could barely see 10 feet in front of us … yikes)!

The hill we were at is actually where Caleb proposed to me two + a half years ago — on November 29th, 2013 — opening day of Granite Peak Ski Area that year : ) The trip was actually our first time back at the hill since we got engaged, so I was, of course, a little emotional!! Such precious memories at that place! : ) Besides our time skiing/snowboarding at Granite Peak, we stayed with Caleb’s grandma + played plenty of board games (with lots of home cooked food, of course! Grandma’s are so good at that)! It was such a fun + relaxing weekend away — perfect timing as we gear up for the craziness starting in just two weeks!! But, who am I kidding … I can’t wait for wedding season to start! : ) Happy Tuesday!!

On the trip we learned that Granite Peak was one of the first ski areas in all of North America, opening its slopes in 1937! Yeah Wisconsin!
