You might just recognize some of the faces in today’s blog post! John and Marissa won the Your Love Story, Styled session giveaway that we did when we launched our new website this past winter!! During that time, it was SO fun to get to know these two and plan an incredible shoot around their love story! I’m going to be completely honest, though, in saying that we had NO idea what our relationship with them would turn in to!

After meeting John and Marissa and getting to know them a little bit better, we quickly fell in love with their easy-going and warm personalities. It honestly feels like we have known these two for SO long when in reality, we have only known them for a couple of months! They are just that “way” and it is something that we cherish and really value about who they are as couple (because I am CERTAIN they make everyone feel this loved and welcomed!).

After the styled session, John and Marissa told us that they wanted to work with us for their upcoming wedding day!! We were SO excited (especially after hearing what they were envisioning for their day!) and we knew that another engagement session was absolutely in order.

These two joining lives is about a lot more then just John and Marissa becoming husband and wife. While we totally think that this is the most foundational and important aspect of their wedding day, another exciting part is the joining of John’s kids to Marissa’s life, too! We wanted to meet these guys and get some shots of the whole “gang” as they are super excited about this season of engagement just like John and Marissa! Lastly, this family just welcomed the cutest golden retriever puppy, Lido, to their family a couple of weeks ago and any time we can document a puppy … well, you know we are ALL for that!!! ; )

Our favorite part about our “second” engagement session with John and Marissa was our time at Period Park in downtown Madison to end the session. Marissa’s dress was absolutely gorgeous and fit in just PERFECTLY with the picture-perfect garden backdrop that Period Park offers (and the purple tones in her dress that matched the purple flowers in the garden? Just too good!!) : ) I loved ending here with these two as it was such a beautiful and romantic time to capture the excitement that these two so obviously share about becoming husband and wife : )
