We have been anxiously awaiting Chris and Sara’s day for a loooooong time! They were one of the first couples to book us for 2017 and if I’m remembering correctly, the first time we “met” them was over two years ago! Being wedding photographers themselves, these two were on top of their planning game to ensure that they were able to work with some of their favorite vendors! However, this planning forced us to have to patiently wait for them to say “I do!” : )

The reason we had been looking SO forward to Chris and Sara’s day was because we knew how intentional and emotional the day was going to be. After meeting and then getting to know these two, we truly fell in love with their unique story, honest and authentic personalities, and love for one another, the art of photography, and being true to who they are. I had no doubt that their day would be such a beautiful reflection of these two and their story … and I just couldn’t wait to witness it!

Cue the wedding ceremony. I’m not sure I have ever witnessed such raw, heartfelt wedding vows. I mean just SO vulnerable, honest, rich, and intentional. I had to wipe my eyes SO many times because I literally could not see through the viewfinder of my camera due to tears. To put it plain and simple, I am so thankful that these two found one another. I am SO thankful for their fate-filled meeting. They are the PERFECT match and the perfect compliment for one another. Witnessing Chris and Sara’s vows and documenting them becoming husband and wife (which is what the whole day is TRULY about after all!!) was by far the thing that we were most looking forward to and by far the most powerful part of their entire day. It was as if time stood still as they were committing their lives together and everyone around them just wept happy tears : )

ASIDE from the incredible ceremony, I absolutely LOVED Sara’s flowers and the rich burgundy colors that she chose to accent her day! When we were shooting in downtown Milwaukee, Chris and Sara chose locations with very neutral backdrops that really made the colors and subjects stand out — I loved it so much. And then sunset … oh, sunset! We snuck away for portraits on the docks of the yacht club and my water-loving photographer heart was in absolute HEAVEN!! The light was nothing short of incredible and I’m so happy we experienced it for Chris and Sara : )
