Brock & Tara | A Winter Wedding at the Historic Hotel Julien in Downtown Dubuque, Iowa.

I have been looking forward to this wedding for so long! Brock and Tara are two people who will always hold such a special place in my heart. They came into our life at just the right time and Tara has been such a blessing to me this year in ways that were, to her probably a coincidence, but to me, divinely orchestrated by God to show me encouragement in a few moments when I was really needing it. Needless to say, I am super thankful for the love these two have showered on us and was SO excited to see them become husband and wife!

Their festive winter wedding at Saint John the Baptist Church in Peosta and the historic Hotel Julien in downtown Dubuque, Iowa was such a fun and special day. On top of it, temperatures were mild and we even got falling snowflakes during Brock and Tara’s first look! It was really magical. Tears were shed as Brock saw his bride for the first time on their day and he kept telling her how beautiful she looked and how much he had missed her, even though they had only spent one night apart. These two were destined for marriage and their fate-filled encounter two years ago tells the same story.

Brock and Tara shared a beautiful ceremony with family and friends just outside of Dubuque, where Tara’s family is from. At one point during the ceremony, the videographer leaned over to me as he momentarily pulled the headphones from his ears and said, “Brock just keeps telling her how beautiful she is and how happy is he to be marrying her. It is so sweet.” I think this little story says so much about these two because when Tara says that he makes her feel like the happiest girl in the world, she means it. Because in those moments when it’s just the two of them and Brock *thinks* that no one can hear him, he is telling his bride how much he loves her.

The night ended with a huge celebration at Hotel Julien in downtown Dubuque. The giant Christmas tree in the corner reminded us of the wonderful season that had just passed and nodded to the life and light that is to come through Brock and Tara being husband and wife. Truly two of the kindest and most fun and sincere people I have ever met … and I haven’t even known them that long! I know their friends and family feel so blessed by their relationships with these two and their will indeed be many lives positively affected by their love in the years to come.
