Welcoming 2016 | Personal Post | A Year of Trust.

Personal

Trust.

It’s a simple word that keeps replaying over + over + over again in my head lately. I’m going to be open here in sharing that I’ve been dealing with stress + anxiety in my life over the past couple of months like I haven’t experienced in a long time. And honestly, I’m not sure why.

I keep going through the list of to-dos in my head + feel like the weight won’t be lifted until everything’s done. But then I think, it will never all be done. This, Maison, is the life of an entrepreneur. You’re just always going to feel this way.

I look at numbers + statistics + online galleries + websites + calendar dates + it’s all just a comparison game. You’re not doing enough. You’re not where you should be.

I see opportunities + business plans + ideas + conferences + I’m overwhelmed by the feeling that there’s just not enough time in a day.

TRUST.

It’s like a little whisper that comes into my head.

Trust that you are exactly where you’re supposed to be. Trust that you are good enough. Trust that you are doing things right. Trust that you were made just how you’re supposed to be + what you uniquely have to offer is valuable. Trust that people want what you have to offer. Trust that you can’t, + shouldn’t, do everything.

Trust that God’s timing is perfect + way better than my own timing. Trust that He knows what He’s doing. Trust that He will provide everything we need + grant us wisdom when making decisions for our lives + business.

It’s going to be a year of trust for me. I’ve got, I mean, I’ve GOT to trust us + trust Him. To 2016!

    Amen to that…

I love the last couple of "trust" statements, feeling the same way lately!!

Hi, Friends — Welcome to the blog!

This blog is a journal of real families (including my own!) and of marriage, motherhood, and a few personal adventures along the way. I am so glad you're here — please stay awhile!

My name is Maison, and I am both a photographer and a mom living in Madison, Wisconsin.

I help families joyfully and meaningfully preserve the moments, relationships, and experiences that create their unique story.
