I’m talking about one of my favorite things in today’s post and I’m going to try to keep the exclamation points to a minimum! Uh oh, already at one ; ) I am a “details” person — I notice details, I love planning details, and I get JOY from the “little” details in life like custom stationery, husbands who match their socks to their wife’s outfit, and a well-decorated Christmas tree. It’s just how I’m wired!
On my own wedding day, I LOVED thinking about all of the details of the day and pulling everything together. Some brides are NOT like me and that is 1,000% okay! I actually wrote a post recently for brides who feel stressed about the wedding details and I would highly recommend checking it out if that is you!
Today’s post is about how and what to prep when it comes to wedding day details (if this is something you care about!) — and specifically today, the bridal details. I love capturing these things not only because they are beautiful (it’s TOTALLY okay to have an appreciation for things that are beautiful like flowers and rings and calligraphy!! Just putting that out there!!) but also because they help tell the unique story of each wedding day and each couple. I can almost guarantee that you chose all of your details for a specific reason and that is why it is so important for me to capture these for you. Whether it’s a map drawn on the back of your invite, your favorite flowers in your bouquet, or your grandmother’s pearl bracelet — all of these things help us tell your story and are such a special and unique part of your day!
Below is a checklist that you can simply right click to save to your computer and print to use as you are prepping for this portion of your day! It is very helpful to have all these things gathered together in one bag for the photographer when they arrive so they can begin shooting as soon as possible! Photographing the details is our “warm up” for shooting the rest of the day : )
In addition to your details for the day, some brides like to bring other items to be used when photographing the details! These have been some popular additions:
Vintage stamps — can be found on Etsy or at Underwood Letter Press
Ribbons that match your stationery suite/floral — can be found at local craft stores, Etsy (I would search “Spooled Ribbon”) or, for a more luxurious option, Frou Frou Chic
Trays (perhaps you could find one at Grandma’s house?! Or else a thrift store : )
Don’t forget about the groom! His details are listed below as well : ) If possible, it helps us to be super efficient if both his AND her details are together in one bag/box upon arrival! We can just grab and go!
