We don’t get to shoot too often in the winter months here in Wisconsin because it’s, well, COLD!! Like really, REALLY cold!! However, sometimes, due to the timing of things, or because couples really want their session with Wisconsin’s iconic winterscape, the stars align with the temperatures + we DO get the opportunity to shoot!! Michael + Lindsays’ engagement session was one of these times + I am just so excited to share it with you today on the blog!! : ) 

Michael + Lindsay have known each other since high school, however, it wasn’t until about two + a half years ago that they actually started dating!! And about two months ago that dating turned into ENGAGED! : ) Michael knew that he was going to have to come up with something really good in order to completely surprise Lindsay with a proposal. It was the weekend of her birthday (+ also the opening weekend of hunting season here in Wisconsin), so Michael pitched the idea that he would go hunting up north with friends + Lindsay could have a girls/birthday weekend here in Madison (which sounded great to her)!! On Friday afternoon she received a Snapchat from Michael with one of the guys he was “going hunting” with at an iconic location about an hour north of Madison. “On my way! Miss you!” … or something like that, it said ; )

Turns out Michael took off work, drove an hour JUST to send that deceiving Snapchat, then drove back to their home that he filled with special décor, balloons + flowers while waiting for his (soon) bride-to-be to get home from work!! As you can imagine, expecting to get home to an empty house with plans to go out with your girlfriends for your birthday weekend, Lindsay was COMPLETELY surprised to find Michael waiting for her with a ring + a question that would change their lives forever : ) The best!! Congratulations, once again, you two!! We cannot WAIT for your wedding this coming fall!! For now, enjoy some of our favorites from your session!! : )
