Craig & Deena | A Classic Winter Wedding at The Black Swan in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

What an incredible and unforgettable day this past Sunday was. I shared more indepth about Craig and Deena’s story in their engagement session post, but to make a long story short, we were able to meet these two and help document an extraordinarily life-changing day for them because of one incredible organization, Wish Upon a Wedding. How inspiring it was so see so many vendors, family, and friends come together to throw such a spectacular celebration at The Black Swan in Milwaukee for the brand new Scharlaus this past weekend! There was a LOT of joy.

Despite crazy gale-like winds, we had an unseasonably warm day for Craig and Deena’s winter wedding and these two were able to enjoy SUN and bearable temperatures for their outdoor photos! ; ) We even had a sunset at the end of the evening! One of the best parts about the venue where Craig and Deena got married is that it is right on the Milwaukee Riverwalk. If you just step out the back door, you are literally on the Riverwalk and have such an incredible view of the city! Inside The Black Swan, you will find beautiful exposed brick, wooden beams, chandeliers, and a stunning trio of arched doors that make quite an entrance to the space! All the vendors involved did an amazing job and we have to give a special shoutout to Sarah and Andrea of Cherry Blossom Events, who planned and orchestrated the entire celebration for Craig and Deena.

At dinner, Craig’s dad gave an emotional toast to the new couple and believe me, there was not a dry eye in the room. He spoke about how when Craig was diagnosed with cancer, Deena stepped in and was truly “an angel of mercy from above.” Her care for and dedication to Craig was the biggest blessing to his family in an extremely difficult time and they don’t know how they could have gotten through it without her. These two getting married only makes complete sense — they are a perfect fit and an unbreakable, unshakable team.

I said it before and I’ll say it again — Craig and Deena, thank you for inviting us into your lives and for sharing your story with us! It was an honor to stand beside you on your day and we wish you a lifetime of ever-growing, ever-deepening love and happiness together. May these photos forever remind you of this special season in your lives and may they be a blessing to your marriage in the decades to come <3
