I’m really excited to share these images with you today! As you can tell, they are not a typical post you might find on my blog … but things out of the ordinary challenge us + push us to be better at what we do!
These shots are of my roommate + dear friend, Brandi, taken for a photo submission I entered back in February. The image submitted had to be vintage themed, yes, but it also had to hold up under great technical scrutiny–good lighting + posing, clean + classic editing, etc.
We took these shots in the living room of our apartment (which has amazing natural lighting due to the floor to ceiling windows!!). I used my new camera body–5D Mark III–along with my 85mm f/1.2 L Lens (ISO 200, f/1.8, 1/500 sec). In addition, we used a reflector to fill in the shadows on the left side of her face.
Also, Vivian made the modeling cut as you will see. She was being such a good girl laying under the chair while we took, and retook, these images, that I just had to let her in on the fun! : )
