The idea behind this blog/project came to me one day as I was gazing out the window. Really. You see, from where I sit at my computer, our wall of windows is to the right + in the corner is what has kind of become, well, the wedding corner? There are lots of pretty ribbons + sparkly gold speckles + now + again, boxes of things I’ve received in the mail. Anyway, the wedding corner was looking really pretty that day + I wanted to take pictures of it because I love taking pictures of details.
As I was taking pictures of the ribbons I thought to myself, “Wow! This will be a great way to document + remember all the prep that went into the wedding. It will be cool to be able to look back on that aspect of this process as well!”. Then that thought inspired me to post the images I take as I prep for the big day on the blog to SHARE with others because, who knows!? Maybe ideas that we have had + done will inspire other brides!!
Hence, we find ourselves here. If anything, I hope the images below, that are filled with really pretty things, simply bring a smile to your face : ) Until next time!
P.S. For obvious reasons, the details of the dress + it’s own post will come after the wedding : )
I have been buying fabric in our color scheme from the “Remnants” bin (50% off) at Jo Ann Fabrics + cutting it into inch-wide strips. Nine of these strips will be tied to and hanging from the back of every chair at the ceremony/reception (we are using the same chairs for both!).
We also opted to make our own name tags for the seating chart! Card stock + fancy ribbon (both from Hobby Lobby). I always buy the ribbon when it’s 50% off! I have also been using some of the scraps from the chair fabric.
My very good friend, Samantha Kachel (of You of Design) is a graphic designer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Sam created our lovely Save-The-Dates + will also be designing our invitations, programs, + other signage for the day!
My best friend, Ann Marie, gave us this Countdown Frame as an engagement gift! She didn’t even know how perfectly it fit into our theme : )
And, ring shots were a must. I love the simplicity + timelessness of my ring! Especially the gold band + super sparkly diamond!!
To my roommate, Brandi, that you for allowing our apartment to become the headquarters of all things gold, made with sparkly fabric and/or arriving in a Fed Ex box. I love you.
