TJ + Kennedy | Engaged | A Nature Based Madison, WI Engagement Session.

Meet TJ + Kennedy : ) Social butterflies, a successful, smart power couple, + football fans of the biggest rivalry in the NFL!! These two are GREAT + I’m certain you are going to fall in love with TJ’s dimples + Kennedy’s smile by the time we’re all done here today ; )

TJ + Kennedy met through a mutual friend a little over three years ago–they were friends at first + nothing more … TJ told me that he thinks he pretended not to be interested in Kennedy initially because he was afraid of losing her as a friend—awww : ) He obviously loves this girl!! So where did the change from friends to dating happen, right?! Well, it was a super cold Wisconsin winter night + the two were hanging out at a friend’s house. The group decided they wanted to play cards–but no one had cards!! So, TJ + Kennedy decided to “race” each other to the nearest Walgreens to buy a deck of cards (neither thinking that Walgreens might be closed at 1:00 am!! hehe!!). But the rest is history–TJ fell in love with Kennedy’s playfulness + the two have been laughing ever since : ) Just one and a half years later, TJ proposed to Kennedy in front of that very same Walgreens before taking her out to dinner at (in my opinion) one of the nicest + most delicious restaurants in Madison–which also happens to be the spot they first met : ) Such a beautiful, fun, full-circle story!!!!

For their session, we met at the Wisconsin Arboretum (+ should have thought more about the mosquitos!!!) but these two were troopers!! They laughed (of course!!) + made our job so easy!! Next, we headed to Olin Park, near where Kennedy grew up, to get some shots by the shoreline of Lake Monona (city “skyline” in the background + all!!). And to finish, we just had to do a couple of shots in their football jerseys–after all, these two LOVE their teams (Bears + Packers) + the rivalry between the two is a fun aspect of their relationship!! TJ told us he would consider becoming a Packer fan after he’s lived in Wisconsin longer than he lived in Illinois (or he said he would move before he ever had to make the switch!!) I admire his dedication to his team : )
